Carmen Violeta, stage name of Germana Barbosa (Santana do Livramento, September 1, 1908 - Rio de Janeiro, June 11, 2005) was a Brazilian film actress. In 1929, she made her film debut in a major role, having previously had a small role in the 1928 film Brasa Dormida. In the 1930s, Cinédia, the first major Brazilian studio, owned by producer and director Adhemar Gonzaga, had its own gallery of muses, and Carmem Violeta was one of these leading silent film stars.
